 | When it comes to celebrating anniversaries I can't say we're extremely good at it. We are more of a laid back couple but once I figured out our actual anniversary (oops we didn't know that for a year and a half but eh) I suggested we go to the Lighthouse to celebrate. We had been back in Indiana for about 6 months when I was talking with coworkers who were shocked to know I had never been to the Lighthouse. So I went home and suggested to Mike we go there to celebrate our two year anniversary. You know why not kill two birds with one stone. Little did I know there was some skeeming going on between Mike and Jenny. Well the middle of July came around and Mike said that he needed to make our reservation for Aug. 1st for our anniversary. I simply looked at him and said but our anniversary is Sept 1. Then he said something weird. He said but thats not a weekend. Lol ok well then I guess we'll just celebrate a month early. Soo we continue on our way to our "anniversary" on Aug 1st and he suggested since it will be nice lets go for a ride on the bike that morning. So we go out and enjoy our time and get back to the house to get ready. Running a little late as I was we were running out the door to make our reservation and then he tells me I'll drive. Which lets face it, we tend to take my car, but he's going to drive aww how nice. As we pull up to the Lighthouse i never realized how pretty the view was, probably because I've never been there, but that's besides the point. We had a nice dinner and he even ordered dessert at the restaurant. So we leave and we were suppose to be going out with Jenny that night so I suggested meeting her at her house since we were already down that way. But he said no we were just going to go back home and wait for them to call. Well I'm along for the ride so why not. As we make our way back home we are sitting at a light and hear a ambulance. Staying put we are suddenly hit from behind, and I thought oh great he just got hit in his car. Well we are waiting for the cops to finish and I get a message from Jenny. She wants to know what we are up to so I tell her about the accident and she seemed concerned. Little did I know the real reason why. So we finally get home and he asks me to open the door. Now I know he has his keys but ok weirdo, and then I see it. The rose petals everywhere and the candles. And there I stop right in the door way. So as he's pushing me in the rose lined pathway I'm just in awe. And there at the end of the little path is a table with a box, which he grabs and gets down on one knee and there he proposes and I burst into tears. As I start to comprehend everything I start asking questions. Do my parents know? Which of course he says yes because he asked my dad and grandfather's permission. And then come the questions from everyone else...Did you have any idea? NO of course not! lol never did I imagine after two years I would have a wonderful man ask me to marry him. But I'm so glad he did. |
