Bride

Jon and I volunteer every year at the rodeo together, and every year Kevin Fowler is the last concert of the rodeo season.  I always wait patiently for Jon to finish up his volunteer responsibilities and then we head off to watch the concert.  The night he proposed, everyone was hanging around in the back and was not headed out to watch the show.  I LOVE Kevin Fowler.  Naturally, I was slightly annoyed when Jon kept asking me to wait, as I prodded him in the back to hurry up.  Finally tired of waiting on my man, I turned to go watch the concert by myself until he could join me.  Before I could make it too far, Jon's Dad yelled at me to come join him.  With a sigh I walked toward him and a group of the guys...that's when Jon dropped down on one knee.  I was completely shocked and surprised.  Jon is horrible at keeping secrets and I could not believe that I had no idea he had this planned.  I was so shocked I took a step back and could only manage a small squeak "yes".  Then of course the tears came.

With an extra special touch, Jon was able to design my ring which is absolutely beautiful.  I love both it and him very much!

I was given a ring to use from my dad and was able to locate an awesome jeweler (Max @ Hudson's Jewelry) in Leander. He worked with me and my options.  I was able to tell him what I wanted to do with it in order to take the diamonds out and make a new ring from scratch. Max did not disappoint and not only met my expectations, but exceeded them in every way.  He allowed me to make payments out to him since we have a joint account and I couldn't take the lump sum out without blowing my cover.  Max also met my timeline in order for me to do what i needed to do before the end of rodeo.  I had called her dad to get his permission and explained that I wish it was in person but didn't see that happening anytime soon.  I was trying very hard to get Kevin Fowler involved in it all, but he told me that he just didn't have the time to fit it in since he had little time to do his show as it was.  So I decided to do it in the back where all of us hang out and have our little shed for the Rodeo Committee.  She was shocked and I was actually a little nervous by the time I dropped to one knee.  Although it didn't happen in the middle of the arena with Kevin Fowler, it was still nice to be able to share the moment with all the people on the Rodeo Committee as they are all such great people and we enjoy our time out there with them all each year for a little over 2 weeks.
