Carla is a native Texan who grew up just 45 minutes northwest of Fort Worth in Decatur. She graduated with a BS in Science and Humanities from Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth in 1989. After three years working at University of North Texas in Denton, she returned to Fort Worth for a position at University of North Texas Health Science Center where she has worked for 20 years in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, cooking, singing karaoke, and scrapbooking. Her constant companion for the last nine years is Sasha Valentine, a sassy Shih Tzu.

James was born in Anaheim, California and graduated with a BS in Sociology from California State University at Fullerton in 2006 and moved west shortly thereafter. He works as an adult probation officer for Tarrant County. He has three beautiful children from his first marriage: Jamie, Elizabeth and Walter. His hobbies include reading, baseball, fishing, baseball, bowling, baseball, movies, baseball, collecting baseball cards, and...well, baseball. He is a devoted fan to the Los Angeles Angels. He will watch the occasional football, basketball or hockey game, too.  James also has a canine baby, the goofy but sweet, Lola Belle. (Carla insisted on giving her a middle name. She is Southern, after all.)
