Our Wedding
Kevin and I have decided to get married at the Porcher House in the historic district of Cocoa Village, Florida. We will be getting married April 24, 2010 at six-thirty in the evening. It will be an outside ceremony but should not be too warm during this time.
The theme we are trying to re-create is "Old Classic Hollywood." The Frank Sinatra, Marilyn Monroe, Cab Calloway era. It was fun music and dancing, not to mention how gorgeous everyone was. My bridesmaids will be dressed in black dresses with diamond accents, and the groomsmen will be wearing a classic style tuxedo. So, if anyone is feeling in the mood to dress vintage, glamorous, feather hats, etc. please do and enjoy yourselves.
Our Reception
Cocktail hour will be inside the Porcher House while we are taking pictures outside with the wedding party. Hope this gives everyone a chance to mingle a little before dinner. You may see some old friends or make new friendships.
Dinner will be served in the Civic Center which is next door to the Porcher House. We will be serving a chicken or beef entree. Kevin and I have carefully selected the catering service Renaissance Catering, and you will not be disappointed! I remember in our first meeting, I told them I did not want any aspargus tee-pees with rubber chicken. Presentation is always nice, but I wanted food with great flavor more than anything. So, come prepared to unbutton a few buttons.
Travel Arrangements
For any of our guests that will be traveling to Florida, once we receive a response card from you, we plan to send you a packet of information on things to do and where to stay. It is Florida, so I know many of you may make a vacation out of it. You can stay in Orlando, Cocoa Beach, or even venture down to Miami. Orlando is about 40 minutes away from Cocoa depending on where you stay there. Cocoa Beach is about a 15 minute drive with no traffic if you can imagine that. Then there is Miami which is about 3 and 1/2 hours away. There are many places to stay and venture off too. We are also about 20 minutes from Port Canaveral which is where the cruise ships dock. They have many different vacation packages you may also want to look into. It's Disney after all, so imagine the possibilities!
A Special Message From Us
Kevin and I hope that everyone will be able to make it to our wedding! The realistic side of me knows this will not be possible with people traveling from all over to get there. If there is anything we can do to help, let us know and we will do what we can.
We thought long and hard about choosing honeymoonwishes.com as our wedding registry. Kevin and I feel as though it is a chance to have a honeymoon of our dreams! We already have all the pots and pans we need, and we would rather have the memories of a great time together the day of the wedding and thereafter. At the end of the day, all we have left are the memories and wonderful photos that will last a lifetime!
Thanks for loving and supporting us as we grow as a couple into marriage. We are truly blessed to have been touched by so many different people in our lives. We look forward to seeing you soon.
