We met as students in January of 1997 at Cabrillo College in Aptos, CA (Santa Cruz). We both had blue hair (Eric’s was better!) and felt that was a good sign immediately! The great El Nino of ’97 – ’98 truly sealed the deal for us, flooding Eric’s house in Santa Cruz entirely in one night. We quickly packed all of his belongings and moved him into my cabin in the mountains. Soon after, we moved together to Southern California so that I could attend the University of California, San Diego. One evening in the summer of 2001 (after a silly dinner and missed opportunity!), Eric proposed on the street outside Vigalucci’s in Carlsbad. The answer was of course “Yes!” and we spent the following 7 years being asked the question “When are you getting married?”

The answer is… March 4th, 2008! Yes, we FINALLY made it official and couldn’t be happier as newly-weds! On a beautifully sunny Tuesday, we surprised Nan (our esteemed Matriarch visiting from New York) and drove her to the County Recorder’s office to be our one and only Witness! After a short amount of nervous waiting, the ceremony was performed by Mr. Sutjipto Widjaja outside in the lovely California sun. Afterwards, the three of us enjoyed a wonderful lunch at another Vigalucci’s in Carlsbad over looking the Pacific. It was great! That evening we had the most fabulous dinner at Vivace at the Four-Season’s - Aviara. We had a truly celebratory evening, complete with a bouquet and 2-tier wedding cake (thanks to our amazing friend Geena who has gone above and beyond to make our Wedding Day and Reception very special). It was so great and we are very happy!! We have had a lot of fun spreading the word about our special day and cannot wait to celebrate with as many family and friends as possible! Now, we will spend the next several years being asked the question “When are you having kids?”!

We have an amazing group of family and friends all over the country (and world!) and we feel very blessed having so many people to invite to celebrate our marriage! We understand the trip for some might be a little far and at an unconventional time. If we cannot celebrate with you on this night, we will miss you very much but look forward to celebrating our union with you sometime soon! Just having you on our list is very precious to us. We cannot wait to see as many of our family and friends as possible for an amazing evening together!
For our honeymoon, we are hoping to visit Australia! We have always dreamed of going and it will be all the more special to us now as our honeymoon destination, since we have not had one yet! HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON!
